Bharatiya Mahila Bank celebrates its 3rd Foundation Day
Bharatiya Mahila Bank celebrates its 3rd Foundation Day today, i.e. November 19th, 2016. The Bank was formed on this day in 2013 with its Registered Office at Delhi, initially with nine branches. Now, the Bank has 103 branches with its presence in almost all the states. The total business of the Bank is about Rs. 1600 Cr with Rs. 1000 Cr of Deposits and Rs. 600 Crore of Advances, majority of which is Retail Business. The CASA portfolio is 32% of the deposit.
The vision of the Bank has been empowering women financially. Hence our tagline- Empowering women, empowering India. Keeping this in view, the Bank has developed a lot of women centric products to suit to all categories of women right from a hawker at the roadside to a CEO of a big Corporate.
Our bank has been earning profit continuously since inception and NPA of the Bank is less than 1%, which is well below the industry norms. People of this country have recognized our Bank. Though our Brand was new in the market, more than 4 Lakh customers have enrolled into our Bank. Bank e-channels like Internet banking, SMS Banking are very customer friendly and quick.
BMB, though very small in size, has been actively participating in all National Schemes such as PMJDY, PMMY, APY, PMJJBY, PMSBY and the recent Demonetization scheme, for the welfare of the society.
The Bank is in the advanced stage of merger with State Bank of India. Hence, we could neither expand our Branches nor venture into any big business for last 7-8 months. But whatever business we are having, is core business and the employees of this great bank are simply commendable in extending customer service within the banking norms.
